Everyone has seen the headlines and photos about refugees abroad
How can your contribution make a difference?
There are refugees and immigrants with disabilities here in Oregon, right now, who need your help.
With your help, refugees and immigrants with disabilities who are unable to be self-sufficient right away can live with dignity and strive to become self-sufficient.
With your help, refugees and immigrants with disabilities in Oregon can afford basic food and housing, which in turn enables their children to realize their own dreams.
Your contribution makes a difference in the lives of refugees and immigrants with disabilities in Oregon, every day.
What Your Donation Will Accomplish
• RISE is able to win benefits for 90% of the disabled refugees and immigrants we represent
• Refugees and immigrants with disabilities can obtain vocational counseling from culturally competent experts who provide training and job opportunities
• Refugees and immigrants with disabilities can obtain medical care from providers who are trained in recognizing and treating refugee trauma
• The young adult children in the families of refugees and immigrants with disabilities can receive recognition and academic credit for their role as navigators for their disabled family members
How else can you help?
Host a House Party
Would you like to meet new people from places around the globe, who now call Oregon home?
Would you like to sample the foods and cultures of their homelands?
We’re looking for folks to host House Parties to make friends and raise funds for RISE.
If hosting doesn’t fit your home or interests, how about helping out at one of the planned 2018 RISE Board Member House Parties?
We’re looking for volunteers to assist at the parties—you’ll get to sample some wonderful food and meet great folks from around the world.
If you’d like to learn more or are ready to sign up, please contact Linda at Linda@riseNW.org!
We’re looking for folks willing to be trained to accompany refugee and immigrant applicants.
